How Do I Get Rid of Background Noise?
I have a very cheap mic and I want to record some sounds in my room, and would like to know how to get rid of the background noise? I have Fruity Loops XXL Producer Edition 9, Adobe Audition 3 & Ableton Live 8. Any VST plug-in names will help too. Thanks.

You mean the room tone? (Also called white noise.) Is it giving you a loud amount of static sounds in the background?
Honestly, it probably has a lot to do with your mic as cheap components generate a lot of white noise simply because the parts don’t work as well; this is why some mics are more expensive than others. However, try lowering the input level when you record first and see if this does the trick. If not, you can try using a graphic EQ plugin and isolating the frequency at which the room tone occurs and see if that eliminates it.
