I like to use sound fonts. WarBeats.com has free soundFonts you can download, I think you have to sign up before you can download the free files they have. Then you need to use the SoundFont player that comes with Fruity Loops, You have to purchase that soundFont player seperately for like 15 dollars if you want to save project files with it. Other wise you can just render your soundFont creations to wav and use them that way. FruityLoops is hard to use at first in my opinion. It seemed so un intuitive when I was first using it. I’ve been using it for years now. Any ways I suggest sound Fonts there are lots of sites giving them away for free. Most of them are pretty crappy though. I wish I had a real violinist or cello player. It’s so hard to get the perfect string sound. There are some synths that make violin sounds but I have not heard a real convincing one. I don’t make as much music as i should but check out WarBeats.com I’ve downloaded lots of great stuff from them, it’s worth signing up for. That’s where I got my best violin sounds.
