Please don’t get discouraged, but it takes a while.
I’ve been using the Producer Edition for years now and I can do pretty much anything in it superfast. But I don’t really remember how long it took me to get the hang of it. All I can say is, keep going. Try things, find tutorials, ask people in the forum and make sure to keep the manual close:
Just about everything is in there. FL Studio is amazingly comprehensive, so to know everything will take lots of hours. On the other hand, you should be able to get some cool stuff done within days.

Make sure to get all you want in one go as the link only works for new customers (so make sure you get the right version too, I recommend the Producer Edition, or XXL if you really like Sytrus or Directwave it’s worth the extra cash)
