It’s the same as the regular editions, you just have to be a student or teacher. Here’s what the FAQ says:
I am a Student and I want to buy the Educational version of your software. Are there any differences?
As a student or a teacher, you can buy an Educational/Academic version of our software from certain shops. Please note that we don’t sell educational single licences from our webshop as we have no way to verify your student/teacher ID.
Here are some FAQ about the educational version:
First, all terms of the End User License Agreement apply (check the EULA section of our Terms of Use page).
1. Are there any differences between the student version and the full version?
Feature-wise there are no differences. E.g., FL Studio producer edition = Educational FL Studio producer edition e.t.c.
Please see the feature comparison page for differences between Producer, Fruity & Express editions.
2. Can Owners of the student version buy or download free updates, plugins and modules?
Yes you can.
You must first register your box version at. Then order ‘Life Time Free Updates’ and or additional plugins from our webshop.
FL Studio educational box version programs have a ‘one time free update’ included.
For example: you FL Studio Fruity edition box version 9, gets one free download update to FL Studio Fruityloops edition version 10.
3. What about commercial use of the music produced with FL Studio? In other words, can produced music be sold?
Commercial use is prohibited unless you have upgraded to ‘Life Time Free Updates’.
4. Is the producer the owner of the music’s licences?
Yes.
