How to record piano in fruit loops studio (fl studio)?
I am having so much trouble.
I connected my real yamaha piano with the computer by putting an aux port from the piano’s phones port to the computer’s microphone port. I pressed record in FL and nothing happens.
Maybe connect it wrong, maybe i clicked the wrong thing in FL…
what can i do?

What version of FL Studio are you using? Is it a legit, non pirated copy? You can be honest, nobody cares, though using stolen software can be bad for you and your computer. If legit, then provided you have the producer edition (which allows recording), you need to enable ASIO4ALL so that FL Studio can record. ASIO4ALL allows the program to see inputs from the computer, BUT if your input on the computer is not designed for the output coming from your keyboard, then you undoubtedly won’t hear anything.
With a line output going to a line input, at the very least you should hear delayed, watered down sound. Try starting with the “record into the playlist as an audio clip” option. Make sure that you have an input selected in the mixer (F9).
I have a feeling that you just aren’t setting up your inputs and outputs properly which is an easy fix, but keep in mind that when you do get things recording, it might not sound good or in time. Those built-in sound cards on the computer (unless it is a mac) have to go through the windows internal mixer, which causes delay. Basically the sound goes from piano to computer, processes, drops into the program, processes, goes back through the windows mixer, then out to headphones or speakers (whichever you are listening to). This can be frustrating because notes you play will be slightly delayed and can mess up your creative flow. USB Audio interfaces plug in (obviously) by USB, they have inputs and they use real ASIO (It takes away the delay). Some are as cheap as 40 bucks and I recommend an interface as the first step of any digital musician, but then again, this is only my thoughts.
As a last note, to get to the settings for audio press F10, then choose the audio tab and make sure ASIO4ALL is selected.
