remember that FL Studio only records with ASIO sound driver. You can get ASIO4ALL if u dont have ASIO and its free. check link below.

and for your question….the proper way to record with FL Studio will consider configuring your FL Studio sound settings, etc…. so its better to watch detailed tutorials on youtube on how to do so. check link below.

The channel window (F6) is where all the sounds are (make sure you have ALL selected at the bottom so you can see all of your channels).

The playlist just tells everything WHEN to play, so ignore that for now.

The Mixer is what takes all the sound and sends it out to your speakers in a single L and R stereo mix.

In the channel window (F6) the sounds are still separated, but by default, FL Studio sends all of them out through the main out. To fix this, click one of the channel buttons in the channel window so that it is highlighted. Now go to the mixer (F9) and right-click on any mixer track (i.e. – insert 3) and choose Link selected channels>to this track.

That track is still sending to the output, but now you can mess with it before it goes to the master output. FL Studio is all about routing and once this makes sense, everything goes a lot faster.

Try making a nothing project, but every instrument you add, link it to a mixer channel. This will give you the idea of what’s going on. You can even link multiple channels to one track by highlighting a bunch. This helps when you have a bunch of vocals that need the same exact effects on them.

One more thing: Don’t place Edison on the master track, put Edison in it’s own mixer track when recording and rename it (select the track and press F2) to something like “Record” or “Vocals”.

    Cheers
