Samples to use for a Reggae influenced beat?

fl studio samples

im thining of making a reggae style beat on fl studio. where can i get such samples or instruments, preferably very cheap or free (but without having to fill out those dodgy forms) and if you could tell me the names of the samples so i can find them that would be appreciated, and i never tried to do reggae b4 so if you have any tips then that would also be appreciated,

im looking preferably for a whole pack of reggae sounds, i dont like the idea of searching half the internet for 3 hours and ending up finding nothing.

thank you

here’s just a few tips for reggae:

don’t use time based delay. I think fl studio has two delays, one is not time based, the other you can switch the clock on and off.

reggae always seems to have alot of reverb. be sure to use the sends and busses so all instrements can use the same reverb, and you can adjust how much dry signal comes through on each OR use the peak controller to automate the wet level knob. have one reverb controlling another. the listener will never notice it dropping out but they will notice the accessive noise of using 6 reverbs at once.

if you can record real drum hits with a mic and filter them. Real reggae is not synthezised. Get as much human contact as possible. sometimes a beat can be totally synthezised but if you add one single guitar or something played by a real person in a real live room with a real mic, it can give the whole recording some flesh.

of course if your getting into american reggae or dub step or dark dub or reggaetron or ………son of ibtch these genre’s are breeding like bunnies………well then spend some time layering kicks with different filters/eq’s/resonances.

layer claps snares and high pitch anologue glitch clips on top each other for snares and third beats.

    good luck.
