Fruity Loops Studio Samples

I was also curious if there is a way to edit loops in a way where i can just single out one note and use it. For example theres a very good sounding violin loop. I just want to use that violin in piano roll, not the full loop, but just make it so it’d be like i’m paino rolling a regular piano.

can i not do it so that it plays the exact same note with exact same length regardless of the pitch/note of key?

Normal: duumm

i want them all to be same length and sound exactly the same except for the note.

what i mean is after i record my loop for example how do i get the recorded notes onto the piano roll??

Is there a way to change this so that when I stop playback the timeline marker stays where it is?

then I transfer it into the play list so I have my tune showing on the play list in pattern 1.

Now this next part is where I get it wrong every time…
What I want to do next is to create a completely new instrumental in the pattern 2 column below my first instrumental, with new instruments, maybe a drum beat etc.

What I have been doing is clicking pattern 2 to highlight it, then going in to step sequencer, Now when I do this, it shows a completely blank sample with none of the bars clicked or anything, but what it does show is the instruments that I used in my previous instrumental, and I don’t want these, so what I’ve been doing is choosing and dragging my new chosen instruments from the side on the left into the step sequencer and then creating my instrumental and putting it into the play list.

BUT THEN WHAT HAPPENS IS… the old instruments in my first instrumental are replaced by the new ones and my first instrumental now sounds warped. What I wanted to do was to create a completely new instrumental on a new slate so that my second sample complemented the first one, and I don’t know how to resolve this, could someone please help me, thanks a lot…
